Indecisive

I guess it's always been this way. I'm a people pleaser. And I suppose a bit discontented. Rarely just content to live in the moment, always looking forward to something. So I'm always afraid I'll make a bad decision and wish I had chosen differently.
I'm realizing this again today. Greg's birthday is Tuesday, and I'm taking him out tonight. He doesn't know. Sitter and everything. Date night doesn't happen all that often around here, so I want it to be good. Do we stay around here? Go downtown?
I just wish I could hire someone to be my secretary. "Make reservations somewhere, get his gift..."
(Speaking of his gift, it's a big one, but I nearly hyperventilated due to indecision shopping for it!)

I'll let you know how it goes...

Hey Heather...the birthday thing is sort of a big deal, and though Michael and I have been together for 8 years, I can only say that I have given him one memorable birthday. He was born in July, and we've been to at least 5 weddings on his birthday or birthday weekend in all of those years. This year, I surprised him with a 24-hour surprise celebration. Dinner at a restaurant he always talked about going to, a night in a hotel downtown, brunch at his favorite diner, and 2 movies (back to back) of his choosing. He loved it...and I think the biggest part of that was that he didn't have to plan anything and we were having precious alone time. It was great and we plan to do it every year...no gift. Our biggest gift is our time. I read your blog all the time, and I'm so glad that you are doing so well. Wish we had a time and place to catch up...

Best,
